This was a special project for us, the restoration of a possibly 300 year old antique Chinese glass bead curtain cherished for decades by its current owner John living in New York. This beautiful glass bead curtain travelled with our clients from home to home and was the envy of this friends and family. But the bead curtain was in danger of falling apart as its strings started breaking and the beads showed years of dust and grime.
Once the Bead Curtain reached Memories of a Butterfly’s studio, it was give royalty treatment – a complex task given the minute 4mm size of the beads and the intricate design of this magnificent piece that was no less than a piece of art. After restringing the beads were meticulously cleaned bringing the bead curtain room divider back to its former glory. Suffices to say our clients were thrilled as are we – this restored beauty will see 3 centuries more!
